Pros and cons of Frantastique app for iPhone and iPad

Frantastique app good for

Excellent app and excellent course. Funny too. App would be even better with landscape mode.
I wish I had this app a few years ago when first moving to France. Im no longer a beginner in French, but this is still challenging and the stories are really funny!
Funny, only 10 minutes a day… love it! I appreciate the mix of pedagogy and cultural references. Thanks Frantastique.
The French are easily enough conquered, but their language is another story. This makes the diabolical tongue of Molière, Voltaire and that third musketeer somewhat more accessible. Thanks Frantastique.
Frantastique is one of my favorite apps. It is great to practice and learn french. It takes you 15 minutes to complete its daily lessons. Its lessons are personalized according to your proficiency level and evolution.
It is an entertaining way to approach the language. At times, the core lessons can be slightly ridiculous, however the learning aspect is great and explanations often fun and always really well.

Some bad moments

Most everything is written in French. I think if you have at least a basic French vocabulary, it might be okay. I found it difficult to understand and maneuver within the first lesson. This isnt a good program for beginning French. No fun for me anyway
But I could not understand these lessons. The layout, the prompts, the test format---all of it seemed confusing to me. The flow of the pages is extremely wonky and its visually annoying because its hard to decipher a question from a non question. Then when you go to close a lesson it says you have unanswered questions. Yeah? Well make the questions more clear then. I really wanted to like this because Im really wanting to strengthen my French but this app failed me.
I downloaded the app two times, and the error was the same: oops! Something went wrong. Shure it did. I wasted my time.
I have tried the free trials of Frantastique, and i have had my time extended for 10 days (which was nice). I really enjoyed the lessons, however, the monthly cost to keep going is outrageous. This program costs what it would to take a french course either online or in class. One could find a french tutor for less than the $69 dollar a month fee. I might even still be inclined to use it for a short while, but after you are done, you have nothing to keep (at least that was how it went with the trials).
If you can understand basic French but need to improve, this might be for you. If you dont know any, dont bother as you wont understand and youll just be guessing at answers.
Good concept. Funny coincidence that one of the first lessons is about poor listening skills making for a poor manager. Exactly the problem Ive experienced with their staff. Too concerned about being "Right" to listen to or address a major issue I had. Deplorable people skills.
