Outstanding for learning French

I love the lessons which I normally take on line. I use the app for review. No problems using the app. Great for review.

Love this app for learning new words/phrases and for reviewing the French I already know. Informative lessons that make learning French enjoyable. Well worth the download!

To advance and keep fresh in a language you need daily review, but when you are short on time it is hard to know where to start. This program gives you short daily lessons that adapt to your level. Perfect!

I dont usually write reviews but Im making an exception. As someone who has downloaded every free app and several paid ones to learn french, this is hands down the best. Its very intuitive, the explanations are understandable, and its interesting. Bravo!

This is a fabulous app! The humor makes you feel like youre spending time with a best friend. The spaced repetition approach allows you to retain new information acquired, and it always feels like fun. Three thumbs up!!

Very amusing and it seems to be homing in on my weaknesses.

This app is not free but is truly worthwhile. The daily vignettes are charming and teach me. modern French vocabulary. I feel like Ive accomplished something after each lesson. Unlike free programs like Duolingo, Frantastique is smart and doesnt frustrate me with picky corrections or useless repetitions of things I already know.

Im an "A2" student (American). This app gets high marks for providing a creative, entertaining and tailored program for learning. The lessons are engaging and focused and the wry and sometimes self-effacing humor is sure to make you smile or even laugh, at times. Thats an important motivational factor for me as I listen to each daily lesson. The "production value" and user-interface of the app is also quite good. The app is very stable. I typically use my iPhone, but a larger format (e.g. iPad) may be better. Areas for improvement: • Ear training: This is the hardest part of learning French for me. I can read far better than I can hear. The lessons are typically centered on a short piece of dialogue, but its just not enough and I dont feel like Im getting much traction. It would be helpful to have more practice dialogue that a beginner is most likely to have or want to have. Maybe I need to be more patient. • More repetition. The app allows you to designate words and concepts for review, but somehow this falls short in really cementing these things in my mind. • Lesson frequency: You can only get 5 lessons per week. Itd be nice to be able to get 7 lessons/week. All in all, Im really enjoying the app and look forward to my daily lessons. Merci, Frantastique!

Ive been using Frantastique for a bit over a month now, and I love it! I look forward to my lessons each day. However, itd be nice to receive lessons 7 days per week instead of 5. The subscriptions are definitely an investment, but the free trial is a generous way to get a feel for the app and service. Frantastique excels at pinpointing your level and tailoring lessons to you. It is also a large leap ahead of Duolingo (another great, and free, tool) in terms of actually teaching you the material. Frantastique gives very detailed explanations of mistakes. It has taught me grammatical rules in a month that I have been trying to learn for close to a decade. I highly recommend the app and subscription for serious learners. If you are just getting your feet wet in French, it probably isnt for you.

I took up to AP French in high school, then studied on my own and never reached fluency. Just a week with this app has really helped see where the holes in my language learning are. This is well-paced, well-developed, and has a naked Victor Hugo cartoon so everyone wins. I recommend it to everyone except maybe complete beginners, who might be better off reading through a phrase book first to get an idea of the rules and sounds of the language.

Fun to use and at the end of each lesson you get a thorough lesson in grammaire second to none. My only problem is the steep price..

I did the 7 day trial. It was great. Very engaging short lessons. It was fun to do the lessons each day. I did not decide to sign up after the free trial because the cost was too expensive ($60/month and they would automatically charge my card). I would be more willing to pay for a certain number of lessons. This product is definitely worth paying for, but not at the current cost. If it were half the price I would definitely be interested.

Its much better than anything else Ive tried. The humor is great too. Downside is losing lessons when you dont have time. The subscription model forces you to participate, which can be helpful, but when you dont have time it serves as a punishment.

I studied French many, many years ago. This is a great way to pick up where I left off. It seems to have assessed my proficiency pretty well. The lessons are interesting because they focus on the frontier of my knowledge. More importantly, the lessons are smart, witty and entertaining.

The stories are funny, the videos are fun. They seem to adjust the level well as I can tell Im improving but the lessons seem a constant level of difficulty. The only thing i would add would be a way to save your answers in the middle of a lesson so you can pick up where you left off if you get pulled away. All in all a very fun way to learn french :)

Great way to not only keep up on my French, but to continue learning as well.

I started as a low level B and I am now a level C2 in French. I use this app as a way to review and keep my French fresh when Im not in France. I have learned lots of new idioms and i enjoy the fun lessons which dont take a lot of my time 5 days per week. The app tests listening, pronunciation as well as all the standard grammar. You have access to all your lessons, grammar , vocabulary which is really helpful when you cant recall something.
