Frantastique App Anmeldelser

Hard to understand

Maybe I’m too stupid but I have no idea what was going on

⚠️READ BEFORE DOWNLOADING⚠️

I only wrote 5 stars so people could see this DO NOt I repeat do not get this app the app seems promising but when you get in, it does not let you do any lessons unless you pay if you do a free trail the lessons are horrible very bad app do not recommend try Duolingo

Took all my money - useless app

This app is a scam. They are charging me 25$ every month and outright refuse to cancel my subscription. The app itself is so dumb and useless I can't even describe. For starters, as if this app was made in the 90s, you manually have to mark "I don't know"/"I don't remember" unlike much more powerful and effective apps like Duolingo. The interface is just a giant HTML form. There is no feedback on your learning or vocabulary. They just send you lessons and unlike advertised there is no science that will help you learn the language. Such a horrible and disappointing experience.

Formidable!

I look forward to each lesson because each one is clever, very funny, and based on sound language learning research. I appreciate the creators’ hard work! Merci mille fois! Rebecca

Great App and Service

I used Frantastique for several years, progressing through all the levels until I ran out of content. There is no question that the quality of the materials is excellent and engaging. I learned so much from using this application/service. I used Frantastique as part of an overall set of learning materials to advance my knowledge of French because nothing beats in-class instruction. Nonetheless, Frantastique can help accelerate your journey in French — and in a very engaging way. After I finished Frantastique, I ended up getting a bachelors degree in French and have lived in France since 2021. On a daily basis, I make use of all those little tidbits on culture and expressions that I learned through Frantastique. One small challenge with Frantastique and Gymglish’s other products is that they are not for pure beginners. You do need to have some basic French knowledge to get started. At present, I am working my way very slowly through Saga Baladoria (their Italian course) and am really struggling because I don’t have enough foundational Italien. In any event, the 7-day trial will give you a chance to assess where you are with French so you can make your own judgement. If you can combine Frantastique + in-person instruction + French reference materials, then the overall approach can be successful.

I used to like this app not anymore

I used to really like this app! A little repetitive but different! I already had some French knowledge before downloading. I find that for absolute beginners may be a little hard. But it’s a cute app. I also find that it’s not an app where if you only use this you will become fluent. Not at all tbh it’s good to have on the side. Before I used to pay $15 and it was like 4 lessons a week I think. Now to get 5 it’s $80. And for two lessons a week its $12 for some lessons that are good but not wow. Might as well pay that for bussu and babble which are much better even Duolingo. I’m not sure what happened here but it’s way too expensive now. You can get a certification on bussu and learn modern words and practice and review better. I’m super disappointed because I enjoyed this app

My favorite!

This is really my favorite way to remember and improve the French I’ve learned!! I love the humor and I love that the app is so adaptable to my learning needs. I’ve found it difficult to identify good learning material beyond beginner or early intermediate French but Frantastique is perfect! Fun, bite sized lessons on a regular basis. I only wish the price weren’t such a stretch. It’s hard to justify, and I know several people who would love it otherwise!

Blocked at 5 lessons a week.

Loved the sample lessons but don’t want to pay for an app that throttles users to only 5 lessons a week to drag out learning and maximize profits. Just set a base price for the entire course so people can buy it and do it at their own pace.

No landscape mode

It’s a great resource, but I wish there were a landscape mode for iPad and iPhone.

Best french app out there!

Way more fun and way more helpful than any other app i’ve used! i’ve used duolingo, rosetta stone, etc and this is by far the best one i’ve ever found!

Email notification can't be switched off

It's sooooooo ridiculous that the email notification cannot be switched off!!!

Literally 10/10

Quelle fantastique l’application. C’est très utile si on veut apprendre le français, notamment si on souhaite de continuer les études français.

Good but expensive

It’s a great app minus one star for the price

Love it!

A wonderful app!

Amazing tool to supplement other training

Not enough content to acquire proficiency within a reasonable time frame but excellent at targeting weak points (grammar for me). It detects where your deficiencies are and tailors your training to address. A lot of training packed into 15 min daily lessons. The basic pack is fine unless you want to specialize in business. If the Pro version offered specialization in international affairs I would have purchased it.

Excellent app

Best app developer for language learning by far. I’m even considering doing other courses. Please make one for Italian!!

A thorough teacher; content not compelling

The pedagogy is very strong — rigorous exercises. The story it’s based on seems forced — sometimes funny, sometimes silly — and it’s hardly compelling. I like the humor and the spicy mode but sometimes it feels forced. Also wish I had understood that dialogue could be slowed down and that CC were available. Thank you for the grammar and vocabulary enrichment. It’s very expensive - I don’t know whether I will continue.

Makes me want to keep learning!

Really good content, great design and calibrates lessons to my needs. Effective and engaging!

The worst app

I recommend you look elsewhere if you’re hoping to learn French.

Love this already !

Only in my second trial lesson and love how engaging, thorough and organized these lessons are. Laughed out loud many times on the certain commentary on the lessons. Hope I can afford to continue lol. Just want to say ... Great job to the developers! Having french throughout the lesson was the best way my high school French teacher insisted we can develop the “ear” for the language.

Great Program if you are a beginner

This program is too easy for someone who has been studying French for a long time. I was told that after 7 lessons I would be reevaluated. Now I studied the words for cup, glass and ashtray and I’m learning to tell time! Really? At an intermediate level? I asked for my money back after only one week but to no avail. What’s next, how to count to ten?

AMAZING!

This is the perfect app to learn French with the fun way. The bite-sized lessons are personalized to your level and what you are interested in. The videos are really funny and they include different accents and colloquialisms. The culture exposes you to a wide variety of famous or well-known French people, songs, or films.

The real deal!

This app is really helpful at keeping me at a good pace and consistent with learning french. The price is totally worth it. Because of the sheer quality of each lesson. It’s feels like being in a class with a teacher that teaches only on French which I have done in the YMCA. Realistic explanations Down to earth humor I’m confident I’ll get to a higher level of French with this tool

Best French learning app

This is by far the best French language learning app I’ve found. It does require some investment, not just of money (the courses aren’t cheap, but they’re reasonable for what you get) but also of time. The difference between this and other language apps is that you can’t skim your way through this and get some stars. You can’t just memorize how the app works and respond based on that. I find that listening to each dialogue 4 or 5 times and reading everything at least twice helps me learn the language quite well. In 6 months I went from an A1 to B1 level. Since it is expensive, I wish you could pause it automatically, even for like a month, but if you contact the customer support team they’ll add time to the end of your subscription.

The next best thing to in-person classes

I signed up for a 6 month subscription and it’s been amazing so far. The daily lessons are short and fun, but really challenging. My French boyfriend watched me do a couple of then, and commented how thoroughly they test important basic skills such as pronunciation, grammar, conjugating, reading and listening comprehension, vocabulary, while also teaching important cultural and historical references.

App keeps glitching

App doesn’t submit my answers so I have to delete and download after a lesson. Not worth the effort for me.

Creative and Fun Learning Experience

I’m still on the free trial but it has been so fun to learn through this app. The story line is creative and fun. The characters are goofy and the dialogue can include swear words and slang (if you choose) that you would hear if you actually went to a French-speaking country. The entire program keeps you engaged despite that you are still putting in the work (just once a day for about 10 min). Lots of fun! Go for it!

Frantastique

I studied French in high school - 45 years ago - and have rarely had need to use it. Even so, I am intrigued by the language. I used Duolingo for a year. In 5 sessions of Frantastique I am more engaged and committed to learning more useful French skills. Vive la Frantastique!

Frantastique

Frantastique is the most entertaining way to learn French. Wildly imaginative stories are combined with a wicked sense of humor to captivate and entertain you as you learn the intricacies of the French language. Although it is not cheap, the app gives you access to a breadth of knowledge about the language that I have not seen elsewhere with the exception of a private tutor. I heartily recommend the purchase of this app to anyone whose budget can permit it.

Entertaining way to learn

Well done to the design and development team. This is a really satisfying and entertaining way to learn a language. However the price is a deterrent for me to continue since you can obtain something similar by mixing a few other resources for much cheaper. I also wish all of the gymglish apps were contained in one subscription instead of separate apps. This would make the price a bit easier to swallow.

Great app - too pricey

I love the app, it is very well thought out - but after my free trial I will not be able to afford the price if the app. Still, great design of the app - it makes learning fun and keeps me engaged.

A great site to learn French!

This site incorporates grammar, pronunciation, communication, listening comprehension as well as French culture in an appealing, sometimes funny, method of learning. Review of material is presented without it being monotonous and in a timely manner. Corrections of lessons are given within minutes (literally) with explanations of material and usages. This helps the learner to correct mistakes and learn faster. The site issues certified diplomas that can be printed when certain levels are reached and the student can track his/her progress in various levels such as general knowledge, vocabulary, communication and grammar as well. The price of this course is excellent, especially when one considers what one receives! I highly recommend it.

Best way to learn French

I love this app. I’ve tried so many apps and tools to learn and nothing else has kept me engaged and actually learning

A creative way to learn French

Frantastique is a creative and amusing means of learning French. The daily lessons consist of readings, vocabulary, grammar and culture in short bursts. My only recommendation is to add the option of eliminating slang.

Trop Cher:😠

I guess this is for people who ho are well-off I guess I have to panhandle ; if I want to use your program; that’s ashamed

Worth the money

I was very impressed by how well each lesson is tailored to my needs. I don’t feel like I am wasting time reviewing things I already know. The lessons are fun and quick too!

Outstanding App that has you think

Unlike anything else out there that I’ve seen, Frantastique has you listen, think, write (and hopefully you’re speaking aloud at home) - and then builds upon what you’ve leaned and revisits what you haven’t had total success with. I love that the directions and explanations are both in English and in French. The English-language ones can be wickedly funny and the storylines themselves are quite original. I’m only 30 lessons in and purchased a long term subscription because this is the way to go. Hands down Love it!!!

I love this program!

First off, if you find the idea of paying hundreds of dollars for a French program, I recommend accessing the program via a web browser. There are more options through the web browser. And one option is to pay monthly over a certain amount of time. I signed up for the 2 year basic program, and the cost is $27 per month for 2 years. It makes the cost a little easier to swallow. And if you contact them, to ask if they have any promotions, they might offer you a promotion too. They gave me 30% off, so I’m really only paying $19 per month. But I strongly recommend trying the program for one of their month long trials before committing. Make sure you like it! Okay. So why I love this program. The stories are engaging and entertaining. I want to know what sort of adventures Victor Hugo and the aliens will go on next! The vocabulary is practical. You’re learning French the way that it’s really spoken. And this program also lets you hear different French accents. I love how the program will review the things that I need to review. I do wish that they would allow the user to do more lessons if they wanted to. And I do wish that there was pronunciation practice. But I’m sure that would require voice recognition technology, and that might be hard for a program to integrate. I make up for this by speaking with native French speakers. They can help me with my pronunciation. And they are probably more helpful than a computer program. Btw, I find French speakers with an app called tandem, or in language exchange groups on FB. I help them with English, and they help me with French.

I love this course!

Before finding it, I was not committed at all to learn French (and I tried to learn it is so many different ways). Now I take my 15 min every day to enjoy the lessons. Totally worth it.

Frantastique is Fantastique! ;*)

I am learning new things every day and having fun doing so! ;) I am using a program for close to a year now, I was not a beginner, the course has remained very challenging in a good way, interesting, stimulating, truly a gem I come back to every day. Thank you Frantastique team, please make a similar program for German! 🥰😍🥳

Entertaining but overpriced

It’s an interesting app but so not worth how much they charge. Pros: - really entertaining lessons, - it gets to a pretty advanced level - it adapts to your level Cons: - limited content - no teaching. It’s more for review with occasional “here’s a new word”. - not for true beginners - it costs too much for a max of 4 hours a month of content. It’s basically $20 an hour at this point unless you commit for a really long time. Some tutors are only marginally more expensive.

It’s about the best I’ve seen

The lessons are solid, and I was truly learning. My French is somewhere in the middle. I’m not bad, but I’m not great. Certainly not fluent, but not hopeless. This app was challenging without being far too advanced. And it didn’t give me too much in the other direction — stuff so easy it would make me roll my eyes. The price is too much for me, so I can’t continue, unfortunately. Maybe if they have a special sometime, I’ll give it a shot, but it’s just too high at the moment.

Well worth it, for those serious about learning French!

The price I paid is well worth the value I receive each morning’s lesson. I love the humor and how quickly the lessons and courses get customized to me, my ever progressing levels, and interests. I am a university student getting my degree in French, and this complements my university classes so well. Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into your app and website. I’m here for as long as the lessons keep coming!

Outstanding App- Fun and Innovative

I was on the fence about signing up for the 6 month subscription, the financial aspect another reviewer mentioned really made me consider whether the app was worth it. After about a month of use, I am nothing but thrilled with with Frantastique. I have tried just about every app out there and haven’t really thrived with getting my rusty French back up to fluency after years of neglect. While every other app is soooo linear, Frantastique tested me on concepts from simple to advanced to help fill gaps in my knowledge. No lesson is ever the same, the verbs and vocabulary are real (not the same generic list), and I love the ‘spicy mode’. Learning to say vomit three different ways was priceless:) Having an email sent to me everyday ensures I don’t forget my lesson, and the lessons are so entertaining I always look forward to logging in to start. I highly recommend this program, it’s the best French app I have come across!

Not always clear what to do

The lessons so far are funny and charming but every single one of them has had a problem in how it is presented so that even if I know the correct answer I have entered it incorrectly. It’s usually a matter of putting the right answer on the wrong line. This makes any kind of assessment a bit absurd, and also makes the whole thing seem all the more frustratingly French.

Best app to improve French

I've tried many apps/methods to learn and improve my French.... Rosetta Stone, Duolingo, Pimsleur, podcasts, etc. I've found this to be the best to teach grammar and practical usage of modern French. My only complaint is I wish it had more listening comprehension.

Great app, very happy

This is definitely worthwhile and I love the short daily format. I’ve been very satisfied and have been using the app for a couple years now.

Frantastique

This app is lots of fun

Makes learning French fun.

The lessons are short, fun and engaging. The variety of materials taken from French pop culture keeps my interest and makes each lesson practical instead of overly pedantic. Corrections come back right away with specific comments on my responses. I always look forward to the next lesson. Best language learning system I have found so far. Bravo!
